About Us

Girls Who Code (GWC) is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology and computer science. One of the main missions of GWC is to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. GWC has over 8,500 programs worldwide and over 500,000 female and non-binary members as of February 2023. Furthermore, half of GWC’s members come from historically underrepresented groups, including Black, Latinx, or low-income.
